Leon Trotsky was a Russian Revolutionary who came to stay with Frida and Diego in Mexico to hide and keep him and his wife safe from those who disagreed with his communistic ways. During his stay, he had an affair with Frida, and soon after, left with his wife due to his infidelity. Frida underwent the affair after learning of her own husband's unfaithfulness.
